23 August 2008 - Buxton went down 1-0 at the Silverlands to FC United on Saturday afternoon in front of over 2000 fans. Jamie Baguley scored the only goal of the game on 64 minutes.

20 August 2008 - Following Saturday's win at Whitby, the Bucks came to earth with a bang following Tuesday night's 2-0 reversal at home to much-improved Ilkeston Town. John Reed kept the same team as Saturday and Buxton should have taken the lead through Gavin Knight before Amari Morgan-Smith became the star of the show.

10 August 2008 - Assistant manager Clive Freeman was extremely disappointed with the Bucks 0-3 reversal at Clitheroe on Saturday in a match that was arranged as part of the deal that brought Gregg Anderson to the Silverlands.

06 August 2008 - The Bucks went down 1-3 to a strong Shrewsbury Town outfit at the Silverlands on Tuesday night. The visitors raced in to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes but Buxton, to their credit, created more after the break and were rewarded with the best goal of the night near the end through Michael Towey following good build up from Gavin Knight and Mark Balfe.

02 August 2008 - The pre-season match scheduled for Thursday night against York City has been called off due to the Minstermen not being able to raise a squad through injuries. Tonight's match against Shresbury Town is ON (7-30).

26 July 2008 - Two goals from local lad Mark Balfe helped the Bucks to a first pre-season win of the campaign at Parkgate.

23 July 2008 - The Bucks conceded two late goals to a mixed Macclesfield Town team at the Silverlands in the latest pre-season game last night in an entertaining encounter.

20 July 2008 - It was a disappointing day last Saturday with Buxton’s planned pre-season match with Northwich having to be called off due to a waterlogged Silverlands pitch following torrential rain on Saturday morning. The next run out for the Bucks will be this Tuesday when Macclesfield Town are the visitors to the Silverlands with a 7-30 kick-off.

07 July 2008 - The UniBond League today announced the fixtures for the 2008/09 season.

06 July 2008 - This Friday the 11th of July (Kick-off 7-30) Buxton open their Silverlands pre-season campaign with a tasty looking match against FA Cup semi-finalists of last season, Barnsley.

04 July 2008 - Neil Ross has had his contract at Buxton terminated by mutual consent. The 26-year-old forward, who scored 10 goals from 30 starts for the club last season, had been put on the transfer list earlier in the summer.

28 June 2008 - Buxton’s first training session of the pre-season campaign was held at the superb Dorothy Hyman sports facility in Barnsley last Thursday night. Manager John Reed and coach Scott Maxfield have devised a very tough pre-season regime for the players and Reed was delighted with the condition all the players have come back in after the break.

04 June 2008 - John Reed is delighted to announce the signing of powerfully built, 30-year-old Mark Hume from Harrogate Town. Hume is equally at home at centre-forward or in central defence and Buxton beat off competition from the likes of Telford, Hyde and Alfreton Town for his signature.

22 May 2008 - The club have announced the admission prices for next season. There is no increase in charge for admission to UniBond League games with only a slight increase in the cost of season tickets to reflect the extra league game to be played next season.

20 May 2008 - I don’t know who nominated me (thanks whoever it was) but I have been selected for the supporter of the week award on BBC Radio London in association with the Non League Daily newspaper.

20 May 2008 - Buxton Football Club are delighted to announce that the management team of John Reed and Clive Freeman have agreed to extend their contracts at the Silverlands following the very encouraging first season at the club.

18 May 2008 - The club is having a painting party next Saturday (24th May) from 10am.

15 May 2008 - The FA has drawn up the leagues for the coming season with five clubs departing the UniBond Premier and six joining, taking the total back up to 22 clubs.

14 May 2008 - A big welcome to the ‘new’ Buxton Football Club website which will keep all of our worldwide fans up-to-date with all the happenings at the Silverlands. We plan to bring the same news service as before but the new layout means a more eye-catching experience at the site as well as a more modern feel platform with which to publicise the club.
