A story of ‘two-halves’ for the Bucks in draw at Matlock on Tuesday night as eigth place is reached in the league table.
John Reed was dealt a blow with Lee Morris still hampered by a hamstring injury before last night’s clash at Matlock. Cayne Hanley started in a 4-3-3 formation that suited the Bucks in the first half as they dominated played but only had a solitary goal from Mark Reed to show for their efforts. Hanley and Reed’s pace was causing problems for the more rigid centre-halves of the hosts and things did start brightly for the Bucks in the second period with Hanley hitting the bar and Reed forcing a superb low down save from Sollitt. The introduction of Benger for Matlock, for the ineffective Jordan Hall, changed the match as Hartley in the Buxton goal was called upon to make several fine saves. He was beaten however by Ross Hannah to level proceedings and the Bucks managed to hang on, despite several injuries, to a valuable away point. Full match report to follow tonight.
