JOHN REED'S half time team talk worked wonders for Buxton on Tuesday night as they came back from a goal down to take all three points against Frickley.
In their first home game in almost two months, Buxton went in at the break losing 1-0 after a poor performance which saw them making several defensive errors.
But they looked a different team after the break and were level within minutes, through a rather unlikely scorer.
With just two minutes on the clock, Michael Towey saw a shot tipped over by visiting keeper Adam Nicklin, but from then on it was the visitors who had the best of the play in the first half.
On ten minutes, Lee Morris was left unmarked, with the resulting shot forcing a good save from Bucks keeper Scott Hartley.
But Frickley's best opportunity of the game so far, which came on 14 minutes, saw them waste a gift of a chance when, having beaten Buxton's defence and Hartley, Chris White drilled his shot wide.
A minute later, Hartley was almost made to pay for not collecting the ball properly following another White shot when it slipped out of his hands. Fortunately for Buxton though, he was able to gather it safely at the second attempt.
A succession of chances followed for the visitors but they didn't manage to break the deadlock until a minute before half time through Jon Groome.
Christian Millar replaced Joe Wilcox at half time and Buxton returned for the second period a much improved side.
It took them three minutes to draw level. A Steve Ridley shot wasn't cleared properly and when the ball fell to Grant Black, he fired past Nicklin to equalise, scoring his first goal for the club in the process.
Not to be outdone, Cayne Hanley bagged his first goal just a few minutes later when he fired home the follow-up after Neil Stevens' shot was blocked by Nicklin.
Things took a turn for the worse for Frickley when manager Billy Heath was sent to the stands, swiftly followed by captain Phil Lindley, who saw red for a nasty tackle on Mark Reed.
Two goals in added time from Reed sealed the win. The first came when he forced the ball home after earlier efforts were cleared by Nicklin, and the second saw him head home from a Black pass, completing a remarkable turnaround.
