gary hayWard - Manager

The Gaffer has plenty of non-League experience from working at the likes of Belper Town, Hucknall Town, Eastwood Town and Worksop Town. Before joining Buxton Gary held a similar position at Hednesford Town, guiding them to a high place in the Central Division. After joining Buxton FC he instantly turned things around finishing the interrupted 2019/20 season very strongly. Gary has brought a real ethos of "Team Buxton" to the football club ensuring everyone buys in to the one club approach from First Team, through the Development Squad to the Academy.

Mark Ward - Assistant Manager

Before moving in to coaching Mark was a vastly experienced striker in non-league football. He started his career at Sheffield United, making two football league appearances, before joining Halifax Town and then Stocksbridge Park Steels in 2002. He returned to ‘Steels’ in 2007 having spent the previous seasons on the non-league Merry-Go-Round  at the likes of Belper Town, Worksop Town, Hucknall Town, Eastwood Town, Frickley Athletic, Grantham Town and Bradford Park Avenue. Gary Marrow re-signed Mark at Stocksbridge in 2007, where he spent two season alongside Jamie Vardy in the ‘Steels’ forward line, and he played half a dozen matches against the Bucks in a five-season stint, scoring at the Silverlands in October 2010. He re-signed for Belper Town in 2012, initially as a player, before becoming assistant player-manager under former Buck Jon Froggatt. After leaving Belper in February 2015 he had a brief stint at Goole and then signed for AFC Mansfield before returning to Mansfield in 2016 as assistant manager to Rudy Funk after a spell in a similar roll at Handsworth Parramore. When Funk resigned in early 2019, Ward was promoted to manager, with Froggatt his assistant, and moved to Hednesford last summer to be Gary Hayward’s assistant.
