In one of the best matches of the season so far, Buxton took a deserved point on Saturday from the visit of league-leaders, South Shields, just as they had done in the reverse fixture in August. Two ball-playing teams participated in an enthralling contest of few fouls and few offside decisions, providing rich entertainment for the posse of visiting scouts and particularly for the season's 3rd biggest home crowd despite the bitterly cold afternoon. The grass pitch of old at 1007 feet above sea level would surely have been unplayable and even its frosted 3G successor gave the players difficulties, to some more than others, but the product for the spectators was nonetheless of high quality. The fiercely bright, low sun likewise provided a problem in the opening half-hour as 'the Bucks' were asked to attack the Railway End, with just 1 change to the midweek starting X1, Johnny Johnston returning as main striker in place of Stoke City loanee, Adriel Walker....Full Match Report HERE


In player news; Josh Smith has completed his loan with the Bucks and has returned to Hartlepool United and Keziah Martin has joined Hereford on loan till the end of the season. The Bucks are next in action this coming Saturday with an away trip to Oxford City.
