Buxton ran out 4-0 winners over in-form Belper Town in the quarter-final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup, Tuesday January 21. Belper are heading up the Northern Premier League East Division table and have won this cup five times. The Bucks are the current holders.

Bucks' team manager John McGrath fielded a strong team. With eight shots on target compared to the visitors' one, it was a comfortable win, but Belper played their part, showing energy, enthusiasm and not a little skill. Ryan Viggars opened the scoring, followed by Josh Popoola before half time and a brace from substitute Sam Tomlinson in the second period. Tomlinson was chosen as player of the match. John McGrath enjoyed the performance. He said: "The boys came back positively from Saturday's reversal. Great reaction. Belper worked their way back a little in the second half but our third goal was crucial. Well done Sam Tomlinson for his second-half strikes. All players used did well and it was good to see.

The Bucks will entertain Derby County's Academy team in the semi-final. Next match is in the Vanarama National League North away to Marine on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
