Buxton FC are pleased to announce the loan signing of Joey Dawson on an initial month-long deal from Scunthorpe United. Joey is a versatile attacking player, capable of playing in midfield and centre forward. Joey grew up as a Scunthorpe United youngster, progressing through age-group football before making his first team debut in 2019, aged just 16. A move to Celtic followed, where Joey made his first-team debut under Ange Postecoglou during a 3–1 win in the Scottish Premiership. Joey returned to his boyhood club last summer following release from Celtic. Joey is the son of Andy Dawson and nephew of Michael Dawson.

The Bucks are back in action this coming Tuesday (24th) with a 7-45 kick-off at home to King’s Lynn Town. Then next Saturday we make a first ever trip to Merthyr Town with a 3pm kick-off.
