Match Preview (Radcliffe Borough FC)

By Elliot Steadman

Up next we welcome Radcliffe Borough FC to The Tarmac Silverlands stadium, Saturday 12th March 2022 for a 3PM kick off.

The Bucks

The Bucks go into this game top of the table courtesy of our 3-1 home victory against Witton Albion on Tuesday evening. Manager Steve Cunningham will be looking for his side to continue their fine form in the league as the title race heats up.

The Squad has recently been bolstered with the return to fitness of Diego De Girolamo and Jamie Ward. The pair both in contention for the League golden boot with 30 goals between them this campaign. The additions of Jason Gilchrist and Mackenzie Heaney alongside Ashley Chambers, Tommy Elliott and in form Warren Clarke have seen The Bucks produce some wonderful attacking football over the past few games.

It wouldn't go a miss to also note the Buck's recent impressive defensive record. Josh Granite's return to the side alongside Matt Curley, Dan Cowan and Sean Newton has seen the Buck's concede just 2 goals in their last 6 outings.

Opposition

Radcliffe FC currently sit 14th in the league on 41 points. However, recent results have taken them to 19th in the form table, picking up 6 points in their last 6 games.

Three of those points came in their most recent match, producing an impressive 3-0 victory at home to Basford United. A wonderfully worked final goal from Luca Navarro completed the victory for the Borough.

Radcliffe have so far struggled on the road this season picking up 16 points out of a possible 48. They will surely look to Player/Manager Bobby Grant in hopes of improving their Away form. Grant (Striker) has scored 19 goals in 40 games for The Borough.

Ones to watch

Luca Navarro has scored 8 goals this season including one last week against Basford. The former Bolton academy player won the club’s January player of the month award. He is a fast paced attacking player who can play anywhere across the front line.

Last time out

Both sides played out an entertaining game with a late header from Ash Chambers which proved to be the difference in a 3-2 win for The Bucks in early October.
