."It was a great point on the road," said team manager Steve Cunningham. "Our rivals are desperate to get into the play-offs, so they pushed us all the way and had a couple of good chances. We controlled the game in the second half and grafted hard on a tricky pitch. It was tough but we stuck at it."

Bucks defender Matt Curley said if was a game for defenders and difficult to play open football. "Whitby are a strong team, challenging for everything. We were grateful for our travelling supporters. I think there were over 200 of them. They gave us a big lift several times during the game."

The value of the fans was underlined by Bucks director David Brindley. He said: "Really good to see so many making the trip. We've got a week to get over injuries, then we hope to see our super supporters with us at Witton next Saturday."

The Bucks travel to struggling Witton Albion on Saturday 26th less than three weeks after beating them 3-1 at Tarmac Silverlands.
