In what was effectively the first fixture of the second half of their season, Buxton on Saturday in the north-east earned a point in the first of 3 consecutive '6-pointers'. Out of all cup competitions, BFC's aim is now to get back to the play-off positions and will have been pleased with the point gained at the in-form, 8th-placed 'Moors', if not with their first-half lack of creativity which saw them reach the interval hardly having managed even 1 serious attempt on goal. Such an opportunity eventually came in the 51st minute when loanee centre-back, Josh Smith from Accrington Stanley, gave his team the lead with a towering header from Connor Kirby's lofted free-kick out on the left.
