In what was effectively the first fixture of the second half of their season, Buxton on Saturday in the north-east earned a point in the first of 3 consecutive '6-pointers'. Out of all cup competitions, BFC's aim is now to get back to the play-off positions and will have been pleased with the point gained at the in-form, 8th-placed 'Moors', if not with their first-half lack of creativity which saw them reach the interval hardly having managed even 1 serious attempt on goal. Such an opportunity eventually came in the 51st minute when loanee centre-back, Josh Smith from Accrington Stanley, gave his team the lead with a towering header from Connor Kirby's lofted free-kick out on the left. The Bucks return to Tarmac Silverlands action next Saturday with the visit of AFC Telford at 3pm. Defender Louis Stephenson has completed his loan and has returned to Hartlepool United after scoring one goal in 9 (5) appearances.

Also a further reminder that you will need to purchase a ticket in advance for the Boxing Day clash at Macclesfield. The link is at the top of the page.
