Stafford Beaten Before Lockdown 2

Grant Shenton has gone on loan to Stalybridge

In the last match before the second national lockdown Buxton showed the Silverlands 'faithful' what they will be missing in the coming weeks as another committed, fluent home display earned a victory to lift the club to third place (with a game in hand on the clubs standing just two points ahead).

Nor was this a comfortable ramble versus the division's bottom team with just one point to its credit as Stafford proved stubborn opponents as in the recent F.A. Cup tie. It took 'the Bucks' all but 6 minutes of the first half to find the net and it was something of a relief when the second goal went in just past the hour....Full Report HERE

Tuesday's match was the last before the lockdown that means no football at our level for at lest 4 weeks. It couldn't have come at a worse time for the Bucks with the team playing some superb football, with 13 points in the last 5 league games and progression in the Builbase FA Trophy (we shall be at home to City of Liverpool in the next round). In fact the FA have suspended the Trophy competition until further notice. We shall provide updates on our social media outlets when any news of a return etc is known.

In team news, goalkeeper Grant Shenton has gone to Stalybridge Celtic on loan for the rest of the season but is on a recall if required. 'Shents' has made 41 appearances at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium and we wish him luck in his loan spell.
