SUPERB SEASON CROWNED WITH PROMOTION

Buxton FC, champions of the Pitching In Northern Premier League and on their way to the National League North for the first time, failed to add to a 15-matches unbeaten run in the campaign's final fixture, but that could not tarnish any of the shine covering the club's record-breaking season.

The Stalybridge 1 Buxton 0 scoreline was disappointing considering the Bucks' dominance for much of the game, but with only possible rivals South Shields – three points and an 11-goal difference behind – also losing 1-0 it was a day of victory. Full Match Report HERE

Celebrations were carried through to the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium on Saturday evening, with fans invited to join with players and management in a euphoric looking back at a superb season, involving not only promotion, but a best-ever FA Cup run. Fans have been "Our 12th man," according to team manager Steve Cunningham, "increasing in their numbers and intensity of support throughout the season. They played a huge part in our achievements."

Director David Brindley summed it up: "Thank you to everyone involved throughout our club, the players, management, fans and volunteers who have made this possible. What a season it's been. All Buxton, aren't we?"
