Young Bucks Shine

Alex McQuade finally made his Bucks debut at Mickleover

The Bucks progressed in to the next round of the Integro Cup with a 3-2 victory at Mickleover on Tuesday night. There were first starts for the club for ex-Marine winger Romenio Barai and local player Ethan Padden and there were a further four players on debut. Centre-half Alex McQuade finally made is debut, after being signed in the summer but sent out on loan to Ossett United, 'keeper Mitchell Allen a recent capture from Stratford Town had a competent start and two players were signed on loan on Tuesday both made debuts. Left-back Kieron Hinchley has come in from Alfreton for a month and French winger Soiyir Sanali has joined us on a months work experience from Stoke City.

We are back in action this coming Saturday with a home match against Morpeth Town at 3pm. The Bucks will be without Alex Byrne who serves a one match ban following his dismissal at Witton last Saturday.

After being one down for over 40 minutes,3 goals in a 4-minute spell just past the hour transformed this tie and set Buxton on track for round 3,with a late home reply being too little, too late. A mere 4 of the starting 11 at Witton were involved at kick-off and by 3/4 time only Nico of the quartet remained, yet the youthful 'Bucks' competed well to hold their lead, despite being reduced to 10 men for the last quarter-hour plus with injury to Liam Hardy's replacement, James Handley, after all 3 substitutions had been made.

With such a changed line-up, a major interest for the travelling 'faithful' lay in assessing the value of no less than 6 'new' players figuring in or starting a competitive fixture for the first time....Full Match Report HERE
