The Bucks Squad Spent Friday At Redditch United

Second half goals from George Ward and Jesurun Uchegbulam (his first for the club) earned the Bucks full points at relegated-threatened Hereford on Saturday to maintain the late push for a play-off place. Buxton had great preparation for the match by utilizing the fantastic facilities at Johnny Johnston’s old club, Redditch United. The players travelled down on Friday and were full of praise for Redditch’ s hospitality. Manager John McGrath kept the same starting eleven who defeated Bedford Town last week with Will Flint and new loan recruit Marshall Francis on the bench replacing Deniche Hill and the now departed Joey Dawson whose loan was up last week. Hereford included ex-Buck Theo Richardson in goals and Bermudan International Keziah Martin was on the bench. Full Match Report HERE

So, a first-ever victory for Buxton at Edgar Street and a fifth victory on the spin leaves the Bucks on the edge of the play-off places with a game in hand on the three teams immediately above them and sets up nicely the home game against local rivals Macclesfield FC on Good Friday at 3pm. The match will be all ticket for away supporters via the Macclesfield website, who will be housed down the Scratching Shed side of the ground. Home supporters will be cash and card at the gate with pre-purchase tickets going on sale early next week. Supporters are encouraged to turn up early to ease turnstile congestion with a large crowd expected.

The Bucks completed two loan signings just before the deadline on Thursday. Marshall Francis is a young forward from Sheffield United who has been a regular in their Under 21’s team and ‘keeper Harry Evans joins us from Derby County following several loan stints in semi-pro soccer.
