With one of their best home performances of the campaign, Buxton deservedly won the undoubted '6-pointer' versus the 5th-placed 'Seadogs' on Saturday with a goal in each half. The visitors arrived unbeaten in 8 and without a defeat since late February, whereas all the best Buxton results recently had been 'on the road' while at home there had been just 1 win in 8 fixtures in 2026. Accordingly, the hosts rose 1 place to stand 9th but on Tuesday evening, when playing their fixture in hand at relegation-haunted Alfreton, they have the opportunity to climb into the  coveted top 7. Next Saturday Buxton travel to Curzon Ashton, a club also in relegation danger. The club will be running transport to Alfreton on Tuesday.
